55% Riesling, 37% Chardonnay, 8% Chenin Blanc | 150 cases produced

The Chardonnay is de-stemmed and fermented on the skins for 14 days in stainless steel. The Riesling and Chenin Blanc are foot tread and macerated on the skins for two days before being pressed and moved to stainless for primary fermentation. The wine is then aged in a mixture of stainless steel and neutral oak for 10 months and bottled unfiltered. 100% native yeast, and the only addition was S02.

All three sites are farmed organically. The Riesling is coming from a site in the Dry Creek Valley that sits just above lake Sonoma. The vineyards are overflowing with wildlife, and one must keep their head on a swivel for the resident family of black bears. The Chenin Blanc sits at the top of a limestone vein in San Benito county and can see 50 degree temperature swings on certain days. Lastly, the Chardonnay sits right off River Road in Ukiah where the August afternoons can push up to 100 degrees. Generally speaking, Chardonnay does not love the heat, but this combination of soil, clone, and canopy management allows the vines to maintain their acidity up until Labor Day and sometimes later.

Bottled unfiltered.

Our Middle Child

Middle Child was the first orange wine we ever made back in 2021 but is now known as Block Party’s more enigmatic sibling. Citrus, white pepper, and lengthy tannins allow for deep thought and easy drinking. Choose your own adventure.
